BitchTapes: There Goes the Neighborhood | (Music) Bitch Media (Or... Tech Bros & Condos SUCK!)

Dear Seattle:  Your Brothers and Sisters In San Francisco Feel Your Pain!

"This week's mixtape is curated by Emily Nokes of esteemed Seattle pop punk band Tacocat!

This is...
An Ode to the Practice Spaces, Gay Bars, Weird Businesses, Affordable Housing, and other Long-Lost Treasures that Seattle has lost recently to:

Greyish-beige condos filled with bigots;  Tech jerks terrorizing service workers on the weekend in the very neighborhood they can no longer afford to live in; Queer/arts/ethnically-diverse neighborhoods dissolving into restaurant nightmares; Lavish marijuana shops selling government-approved wares on the same corner folks were busted for (and still doing time for) selling marijuana!

Cities change and that's a fact. But Seattle musicians aren't going down without writing a bunch of songs about it first."

A Personal Extraordinary Experience On The Day Prince Died

Here's a short and sweet story about a very recent extraordinary personal experience...

Two days ago, I was out walking around the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco.  I had a few errands to run and had brought Tyler the Pup with me.  I'd awoken early (for me) that morning and had decided to do some grocery shopping which, potentially, could entail walking/skateboarding/riding the bus to four different markets... ones which weren't close to each other (It did).

(@ 10 am) The first store I went to was on Haight Street.  I'd bought some amazingly sweet organic strawberries there at an equally amazing price recently, twice.  Unfortunately, when i got there, the price had gone up thirty cents and - although they were California strawberries - they were from a producer I didn't care for.

So, onward (sans strawberries)...

As I walked to the second market (several blocks away), I began to try to sing along with a song that was playing in my head.  I say "try" because I hadn't heard the song in a long time and was unsure about the order of some of the lyrics.  I went in the second store to pick up a couple salads they usually have prepared. Unfortunately, although they did have many salads on the salad bar, they didn't have the ones that I like.

So, onward...
... about seven more blocks to - then - wait for (ever!) to catch the MUNI...

The whole time Tyler and I are making our way to the MUNI stop, inside my head - as loud and clear as if she were standing there, right in front of me - Sinead O'Connor was still crooning "Nothing Compares 2 U" in her beautiful, melodic, tortured way.  I could even see her - in my mind's eye - just as she looked in her video.  I was pleased to find that I was having a fair amount of success getting the lyrics in their proper order - even if I couldn't match Sinead note-for-note.

This is what I saw in My Mind's Eye...

Anywhoo...

To make a long-enough story a little shorter, the MUNI (finally!) arrived and Tyler The Pup and I went to the other two markets and found some of what I had intended to pick up.

And, through each and every moment,  for the entire time - from the moment it had started back on Haight Street - Sinead O'Connor and I were singing our hauntingly mournful song about utterly grief-stricken, heart and soul-crushing loss.

And, for the remainder of the day, Sinead and I sang that song.  Mostly often as a duet but, at times, Sinead would sing it solo (inside my head, of course) if other people were around.

We sang it as I made my way from one stop to the next and as I took care of my errands and - especially - to block out the murderously inane muzak that businesses seem to like to assault people's ears with once inside their doors.

She sang as we arrived back at home and as I cooked dinner for Tyler The Pup and for myself.  I didn't mind at all.  I'd always loved that song - every note, every word and Sinead's every exquisitely-nuanced performance of it.  I swear, from the first time i'd heard it, it touched a Sacred part of my Soul.  And, honestly, I think it touched a Sacred part of every Soul who ever had the honor of hearing it.

At around 9:00 pm, I'd gotten both of our dinners finished.  I gave Tyler The Pup his and sat down in front of my laptop.  I was running late for my favorite (and only) radio show: Fade To Black with Jimmy Church!

I brought up the show's website and the player came to life.  I glanced at the description and couldn't believe what I didn't want to be seeing:

"Tonight On FADE TO BLACK with Jimmy Church:  In Memory Of Prince...".

Immediately, I tried to lie to myself, "No!  It's 'Prince Charles' who died... Please. Please. Please!  I mean, seriously, I'd be totally okay with that.  Because, if it wasn't Prince Charles, then, I so didn't want to know!  My eyes went back and read the screen again.  No!  It couldn't be Him!  No!  Not PRINCE!

It took me a few moments...  And, then, I realized, Whoa!

THAT'S Why Sinead O'Connor's rendition of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' Was In My Head All Day.

At some deep, unconscious level - perhaps at that Sacred place in my Soul - I'd already picked up on that His Royal Badness, our gifted, gorgeous, genius Prince was gone... and (with Sinead's powerful performance of one of the songs Prince, himself, had penned) I'd already been remembering and mourning him.

There was never and will never be another like Him.  Rock In Peace, Brother!

Tom DeLonge's New Sekret Machines Project Takes a Serious Look at UFOs. - LA Weekly

"In early 2015, he (Tom DeLonge) gave a Paper Magazine interview... holding forth on Area 51, government mind control and forbidden engineering."

What happened to DeLonge afterwards reminded me of a quote from nuclear physicist, UFOlogist and author Stanton T. Friedman concerning UFO/UAP phenomena debunkers:

"If you can't attack the data, attack the person - it's easier."

And true to form, in the wake of that interview, a variety of media outlets have openly questioned DeLonge's sanity!

"DeLonge explains that UFOlogy is a "nonlinear topic" that includes physics and the sciences, as well as geopolitics, religion and cosmology. "Researching just one branch can take up several years of your life," he says."

Here's another (favorite) quote that comes to mind in this situation:

"Great Spirits are often met with violent opposition from mediocre minds." - Albert Einstein

Paul Schrade (RFK Friend & Ambassador Hotel Shooting Victim/Eyewitness) Speaks On Behalf Of Sirhan Sirhan At Parole Hearing

THIS... is a Remarkable Event!

Before today, I'd never known that five other people were shot during the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in the lobby of the Ambassador Hotel
(It happened before I was born and only R.F.K. was mentioned in school).

Even so, having done my own research, I'd already figured out that Sirhan Sirhan did not shoot Robert F. Kennedy.

I'm not a R.F.K. 'conspiracy theorist'. It's all simple logic:
Fact:  Sirhan Sirhan was standing before and facing Senator Kennedy, about 2-3 feet away from him.
Fact: The bullets that struck and killed the Senator left powder burns on the back of his neck, proving that the actual assassin's gun's muzzle was at point-blank range and behind Senator Kennedy.
So, although, Fact: Sirhan Sirhan did shoot five people on that horrible day.Fact: Senator Robert F. Kennedy was not one of them.

There's a plethora of additional evidence to support this conclusion (please see the article linked below).   Yet, somehow, none of it was mentioned - let alone entered into evidence - at Sirhan Sirhan's trial.

The Result?  The authorities had a nice, tidy, open-and-shut, we-caught-the-bad-guy, wrap-it-with-a-bow case.
Bravo!

Another Result:  After spending nearly 50 years in prison, the Parole Commission is still expecting Sirhan Sirhan to show great remorse for something that he didn't do (and, apparently, still doesn't remember).
MK-Ultra, Much?(And, before you scoff, please, do some research.)

At the very least, Sirhan Sirhan was a pawn, a diversionary tactic, a patsy and - most importantly - a convenient scapegoat.

At worst - and very likely - he was yet another victim of covert government/military experimentation.

God knows, he wouldn't be the first.  Nor is he the last.

Here's another tidbit I learned:  There's an audio recording from the Ambassador Hotel lobby on that day that proves a total of thirteen gunshots rang out.

Wait for it...
Sirhan Sirhan's gun only held a maximum of
eight bullets.

And, he didn't reload.

Enjoy!*

2016: Paul Schrade, now 91, At Sirhan Sirhan's February Parole Hearing.

(*The following excerpt is from: the amazing and vast digital archives at maryferrell.org.)

Paul Schrade at Sirhan Sirhan Parole Hearing

"Sirhan Sirhan, the alleged killer of Robert Kennedy, was denied parole again at a hearing this past February. Over 70 years old now, Sirhan has seen many parole hearings come and go.
What made this one unusual was the presence of Paul Schrade, 91 years old, who in 1968 was labor chairman of RFK's aborted presidential campaign, and a good friend of Senator Kennedy. Schrade was also one of the victims of the shooting in the pantry at the Ambassador Hotel.
But Schrade was not there in the typical role of a victim at a convicted killer's parole hearing. Instead, Schrade used the hearing as a forum to challenge the court's verdict in the case against Sirhan, to lay out facts which contradict it, and even to apologize to the man who remains in prison for a crime he claims he cannot remember.
The entire dramatic hearing is captured in a 212-page transcript, now available online here at MFF (Mary Ferrell Foundation) courtesy of author, filmmaker, and advocate Shane O'Sullivan. Paul Schrade himself also sent us a copy of the transcript."

(It's More Than Just) The "Mandela Effect" - The Matrix, For Real (podcast)

Have You Found Any Inconsistencies In:

"... the spelling of childhood products; dead celebrities that are now alive; missing continents; alternate history and then some.

For example, do you remember the books titled “The Berenstein Bears"?  Me too…but apparently it’s always been Berenstain Bears".

How about the color of the rain jacket worn by Carmen Sandiego?  Everyone I know remembers it as being yellow, but apparently it’s always been red.

Do you remember Betty White dying? She’s still alive.

The deeper you dig, the stranger it gets.

But perhaps you remember things as they are.

Perhaps this is a conspiracy.  Perhaps not.  Theories run wild with this one.  Could this be the Butterfly Effect in real life?

An alternate history caused by time travel?  Proof of parallel worlds or a parallel universe?  A Multiverse?

Brian Greene: The B-Theory of Time* (*Or: "I'm Glad Y'all Are Catching Up To Me!")

Whoo-Hoo! Vindication!

First, a confession:  I've never taken a class in Quantum Physics.  Nor have I read a single book on the subject.

And yet, despite this lack of formal (and informal) education, I have a strong understanding of its theories/concepts because I'd actually figured them out a number of years ago - unintentionally, all by my lonesome and long before I'd even heard of the term "Quantum Physics".  This spontaneous comprehension occurred at a 'time' when I was attempting to understand a number of inexplicable and extraordinary personal experiences... and I'd been unable to find any information on anything similar either online or in books.

These experiences are some of the reasons that I've been saying - for well over a decade - things like:  "So-Called 'Time' Doesn't Exist."  "Time Is A Fiction."  "Time Is Nothing But A Socially-Reinforced, Globally-Practiced Self-Delusion Forced Upon Us During Childhood." and... well, you get the picture.

As Brian Greene explains in the following video: Contrary to what virtually everyone has been taught to believe, in Reality, "Time" doesn't 'flow' - like a river.  What's generally understood as being 'The :Past' isn't, in fact, over and gone.  And, the events of 'The Future' aren't - at this very moment - nonexistent.

In 'Reality', what we all refer to as 'Time" is simply an infinite and eternal series of "Nows".

Which means: The "Nows" of the Past still exist.  And, similarly, all of 'The Nows' of the Future(s) exist right now... of all of our futures.

Hells Yeah!

Thank You, Albert Einstein, Quantum Physics, Brian Greene and my Incredible (and College-Degree Free) Mind/Brain!

Remember: The Truth Is Within Us All!

Enjoy!

How Anonymous Just Fooled Donald Trump, the Secret Service, and the FBI

The Hacktivist Collective Known As...
Anonymous:

Anonymous - once infamous, primarily, for their prankster ways - "just pulled a fast one on Donald Trump, his campaign staff, the Secret Service, and the FBI — in one brilliant and telling fell swoop.

On Friday, Anonymous announced it had released Trump’s personal information online — including such details as his cell phone number and Social Security number.  Backlash from the Trump front promptly followed, as well as an announcement from the Secret Service and FBI that an investigation had begun.

However, the information had NOT been hacked nor leaked.

In fact, everything Anonymous posted had been online — and available for anyone to see — for years."

And, mass hilarity ensued - Proving a much-needed point:

"Why law enforcement - at every level - was so quick to pounce on the NON-crime and effect arrest of those behind it

— WITHOUT investigating whether a crime had even been committed —

paints a telling portrait of exactly the FASCIST tendencies Anonymous wished to prove."

BRAVO, Anonymous Family, BRAVO!

Top 10 Underrated Films of the 2010s

I'm sure RR is terrific in "Buried" - didn't want to be buried in that claustrophobic coffin with him.  "Take Shelter" looks like a great performance and a self-induced "Buried".  CH is cute and all, but "Rush"? - wasn't feeling it.  "Looper" is Awesome - watch it, repeatedly!. "Super 8" is Super Sci-Fi!  Hadn't heard of "Place Beyond The Pines" - Will watch.  "Killer Joe"? - no thanks, I already have night terrors.  The "Dredd" re-make slipped by me & is on my 'To Watch' List.  "Seven Psychopaths"? - You had me at Rockwell, Farrell & Walken - Oh my!  "Prisoners"? - take me, take me!

Have YOU Seen Any Of These Films?  What did You Think?

Reply To SFCitizen's Post Re: Golden Gate Park's (& San Francisco's) Disappearing Trash Cans

Public Trash Receptacle via SFDPW.

The following is my comment/reply to SFCitizen.com's post:

"Oh Look, No More Garbage Cans at the Golden Gate Park Panhandle Playground..."

Hello sfcitizen:

Years ago, I noticed when The City's garbage cans were disappearing from street corners and parks - particularly in the Panhandle, because I live on Haight Street.

I do not know what The City's excuse was for removing them at that time, but I guessed the City fathers were thinking, "Remove the trash cans and cut back on the Sunset Scavengers bill." Or, "Remove the cans and no one will dump their trash around them when they're overflowing."

If only it were so simple!  Unfortunately, it appears that there's always going to be a fair number of human beings who are going to throw whatever trash they have away - regardless of whether there's a receptacle for it or not.

As someone who, voluntarily, cleans up trash, daily (primarily shattered bottles & other hazards) from our sidewalks and parks, I've learned that, sadly, there's a never-ending stream of it.

And, as it's turned out, without any trash cans for the more sensible among the masses to make use of, people's (especially 'Bay To Breakers' and "4:20" weekend warrior people's) trash is still getting scattered on the ground in the parks and on the street corners where the cans used to be located.

Whether for rats or whatever, removing all the trash cans is not the answer.

Keep San Francisco Beautiful, people! (Or, at least, don't trash her!)

Thanks!
L.

Put Your Best Face Forward: My Personal Review Of Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid

It's easy to take your skin for granted.  But, believe it or not, there are simple steps you can take to support your skin's natural processes which bring about significant improvement in it's activity and appearance.

One of these steps is:  Exfoliation.  Your skin does this naturally, of course.  But, sometimes, (depending on a few variables) your skin may need a little help.

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to try Paula's Choice 2% BHA (stands for "Beta-Hydroxy Acid") Liquid for free in exchange for writing a honest review.

And, here's what I think about it:

I'd read about this product, but wasn't sure if it would have that much of an effect on my skin: "What's 2% of anything going to do?", is what I'd thought.  Well, I've been using this gentle, fragrance-free, pH-balanced exfoliant twice daily - morning and night - applied with a cotton ball.  After the first week, I was receiving compliments on my skin.

Yesterday, I really looked at my face in a mirror (something I don't usually like to do) and... I did a double-take.  Then, I took an even closer look.  The pores on my nose and cheeks were clear and smaller.  Remarkably, there was no late-in-the-day oily shine.  There were no blackheads on the sides of my nose.  There were no tiny white bumps.  The surface of my skin was smooth, supple (no flaky spots) and the ruddy areas which - in the past - have discouraged me from looking too closely at my face were no more.

In a word?  I'm amazed.  And, I'm thrilled to have found a facial care product that actually does what it claims to do!  Answering the door when this opportunity knocked and adding this step to my skincare routine were two of the smartest things I've done in a while.

Paula knows her stuff:  Her products contain scientifically-proven ingredients in efficacious amounts in skin-supporting combinations.  And, her products are cruelty-free: No animal-testing!

Happily, I give Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid my highest recommendation!
(The Deluxe Trial size is available for $9 right now!)

And, if YOU are interested in trying Paula's Choice Skincare products - any of them - please go to Paula'sChoice.com and enter the code "PRBHA16" at checkout to save 20% AND get FREE Shipping, too!

Your face will thank you!

The Gulf of Tonkin Incident That Wasn't: LBJ and Robert McNamara On Tape

THEY Say: "You learn something new everyday!" (Thanks to YouTuber, "Thoughty2", I just learned THIS:

My Working Title Is: "Oops!"*
My 2nd Choice Is: "Holy Crap!"

"This is all going to work out, right?"
August 2, 1964: The U.S. destroyer, Maddox, was off the coast of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on an intelligence mission to intercept North Vietnamese communications. Following some shenanigans carried out by S. Vietnamese raiders against the North (as part of the U.S.' "OPLAN 34-A"), the Maddox was attacked by three North Vietnamese torpedo boats. In no way was the attack was a surprise: as stated, communications were being intercepted. Two of the N.V. boats were sunk. The third was seriously damaged.
There were "0" ("Zero") casualties on the Maddox.

Then, "... on the night of August 3/4 the warships recorded a series of sound (sonar) and electronic (radar) readings interpreted to be attacking torpedo boats."

It's been argued that, due to the crew's hyper-alert status and the "confusion of that night"... radio signals from the initial, "0" U.S. casualty (and only) aggression of August 2nd were mistaken as being "Hanoi ordering a fresh attack".

The on-scene Commander, Captain John D. Herrick... stated, then, that he "doubted the reality of the attacks".

Despite this..
the decidedly NOT "on-scene" "Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Ulysses S. Grant Sharp nevertheless proceeded as if the attacks were genuine".*

(*Possibly due - in part - to the crushing weight and 5-sizes too-big shoes which accompanied the name that his patriotic parents stuck him with?)

Thus the U.S. bombing of North Vietnam went forward based on the MISTAKEN belief in a second (and non-existent) attack in the Gulf of Tonkin.

And, yes, in the early 1960's, communication back and forth took a little longer than it does today. But, it's not like LBJ and Robert McNamara were kept out of the information loop.

I'm guessing that the towering Texan in the Oval Office wasn't exactly a "let's-sit-back-and -think-about-this" nor a "let's-wait-and-see" -kind of guy.

And, based on the chronology of events/decisions/actions, it's reasonable to suggest that, once good 'ol LBJ got the "conflict"-machines in motion, he either felt he couldn't (that might have been embarrassing) - or he simply wouldn't (not one to back down from a fight, even one he "mistakenly" started) - bring himself to stop it.

Click The LINK Below To Go To the NATIONAL SECURITY ARCHIVES where you can listen to the actual recorded conversations between LBJ and McNamara (transcripts are posted as well).

"... the ENTIRE Vietnam War can be said to have been based on a 'misunderstanding'."

This is now consensus among Vietnam War historians.*

(*I'm sure that relying, exclusively, on rooms-full of testosterone had a little something to do with it, too.)

NEW X-FILES PROMISES TO BRING BACK PARANOIA WITH 'MODERN' CONSPIRACY THEORIES

"The Truth‬ Has Never Been More Out There...
Fox’s upcoming and eagerly awaited revival of The X-Files is updating its conspiracy theories — only this time, the sci-fi series might cause more controversy than when the show told tales of government-aided UFO cover-ups during its initial 1990's run.
In the first return episode - screened for reporters (trailer below) - paranormal investigators Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) team up with a charming web-series host named Tad O’Malley (played by the usually comedic Joel McHale, here, in a dramatic role).
The character, loosely based on conservative online personalities Alex Jones and Glenn Beck, bashes the “liberal media” in the episode:

At one point, Mulder compares O’Malley to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly:

“What Bill O’Reilly knows about the truth can fill an eyedropper,” O’Malley retorts"

It Never Has Been.

Open Your Eyes: The Great Forgetting (from @Truthdig) Don't Look Away!

The "Silent".

If you're a Doctor Who fan, you're familiar with villains known as "The Silence" and the group of member-priests, known as "The Silents",
who used post-hypnotic suggestion to manipulate other species into doing their bidding.  One of the greatest challenges to taking on the Silence was that all memories of any encounters with the Silents would be instantaneously erased from one's memory as soon as an individual's gaze moved away from them...

"DANGER! DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

"Trump and Clinton, along with fellow candidate Bernie Sanders, refuse to admit what they (and quite a few of us) know:

Our most basic civil and political rights have been taken from us, the corporate oligarchy will remain entrenched in power no matter who wins the presidency, and elections are a carnival act.

The downward spiral of lost jobs and declining incomes, of shredded civil liberties, of endless war, is unstoppable as long as we use the traditional mechanisms of reform, including elections, to try to cope with the existential threat we face.

A VOTE FOR CLINTON, in essence, IS A VOTE FOR TRUMP or someone as bad as Trump.

Right-wing populism, here and in Europe, is not the product of an individual but the disenfranchisement, rage and despair stemming from the damage caused by (Surprise! Er, not.) Globalization.

And, until we wrest back control of OUR Destiny by BREAKING CORPORATE POWER, demagogues like Trump, and his repugnant doppelgangers in Europe, will proliferate."

Europe Planning A Lunar Base By 2030. (Got Priorities?)

"The final words that Gene Cernan spoke before stepping on to the tiny craft that would ("allegedly") carry him back to Earth are simple and sobering:

'We leave as we came and, God willing, as we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind.'"

That was in 1972. That’s more than 40 years ago. (Again, "allegedly") We haven’t been back."

And, now, THIS...
(Cue Ominous Music)
Europe Planning to Establish Lunar Base by 2030*

*So much for the National Parks' (& other delicate natural places') advice of:

"Take Only Pictures.  Leave Only Footprints."

Here's a Question: "Who's going to win the Lunar Landfill Contract?"
Or, will they  follow that Old Standard practiced on Mother Earth:
"Outta Sight, Outta Mind.", and just jettison their (countless tons 'o) junk into SPACE?

Also, consider how many Billions of Dollars/GBP such an endeavor will cost.

Meanwhile...  Back here on Planet Earth:

Thousands of children are suffering from starvation; in need of medical care; without safe, non-war zone places to live; haven't safe drinking water or adequate education, etc..  And, there's so much toxic & lethal (and nuclear) waste scattered about the globe because "modern man" has been and STILL Is treating the Earth and her oceans like their own individual and collective "Magical" Bottomless Garbage Can...

But... Hey, Don't Be A 'Buzz-Kill'!

Never mind all THAT!  Having our own "Moon-Base ALPHA" Will Be So COOL!

I'm counting to 10, now... (Breathe)
