Darth Obama Signs The 'Dark Act': Are YOU Pro-GMO? Or Pro- RIGHT TO KNOW?

ICYMI:  President Barack Obama just signed the 'DARK ACT' into federal aw.

This law now preempts (The Great State Of) Vermont's hard-fought and hard-won (Hello? They beat Monsanto!) mandatory labeling of GMOs and takes away - from Every Single American - our Basic Human Right-To-Know what is and what is not in our food supply and in our groceries.
Monsanto (You bastards!) and the GMA (Grocery Manufacrturers A**hole-ciation) spent around $400 Million over the last four years to make this happen.
We've been fighting against it.  We are continuing to fight against it.  And, we will not surrender.

I've joined an organization that's continuing to Fight The Good Fight. We're Buy-cotting Monsanto (and all of it's subsidiaries) and every single grocery manufacturer who was involved in this Monsanto-made dastardly dietary disaster... and I'm inviting/urging all of YOU to join me!
Here's what I said when asked why I joined:
"I'm absolutely sickened and hugely pissed-off that President Obama stood up and, then, folded like a spineless piece of paper and signed the 'Dark Act' into law.
I'd expect something like that from any corporate-crony Republican, but I, honestly, hadn't expected it from Obama.

After all, back in 2007, he swore that he'd fight for Americans' Right-To-Know about GMOs!
But, by turning turn-coat and signing this bill, President Obama has consciously and intentionally betrayed all Americans - every single man, woman and child - and has shown us all who he's really working for - and ("Hello?!) it isn't for 'The Common Good'!
Shame on YOU, Mr. President!
What good is a national healthcare system, if 'We, The People' are being intentionally, unwittingly, involuntarily and systematically-poisoned by a GMO-tainted food supply? (Rhetorical Question.)

By signing this bill into federal law, President Obama has - All By His Lonesome - rendered Obamacare moot (after a big slobbering, lobbying push from Monsanto & the GMA**holes).
What makes this betrayal especially excruciating is that there can be no doubt, whatsoever, that President Obama has done this to all Americans - All Of US - and has done so exclusively to benefit a greasy group of pathologically-greedy, ethically-stunted and morally-bankrupt corporations and their shareholders.
His actions make me want to throw-up ( ...where the hell's a Monsanto shareholder when you need one?).
Monsanto must be Terminated. GMOs must be GM-NOs. The Dark Act must be destroyed. And, all of those who were involved in creating the 'Dark Act', supporting it, lobbying for it and who are - only very temporarily - celebrating it must be exposed, publicly-humiliated, shunned and/or kicked out of political office, for good.
Thank you."
As you can see, I'm a wee bit perturbed by this... and understandably so, I think.

And, I sincerely hope YOU are perturbed, too!

Media Undercuts Obama Speech With Backwards Narrative

"Press On!"
President Obama was back in form as he gave an energetic & rousing speech to thundering applause at the Congressional Black Caucus in recent days.

Despite the actual Truth, the AP's report said that Obama had chided the CBC and told them to "Stop complaining."

Despite the actual Facts, the beltway media, fox news & CNN's Blitzer & even Yahoo! News all headlined with and trumpeted the same incorrect and utterly out-of-context few words they hand-picked out of his speech.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee knows better (We Love you, Barbara!).

Rachel Maddow knows better (Ditto).

In fact, we all know better!

What those in the smarmy beltway media, fox news, CNN's Mr. Blitzer and Yahoo(?) News don't seem to comprehend is that...
A.) We're a lot smarter than that.
And... B.) The speech was recorded and can be viewed at anytime (via the link below, for example).
(i.e.- It's not like we have to take their (utterly worthless) word for it).

It was an inspirational speech, friends. Just take a listen...

Obama Draws Line On GOP Games... Hip Hip Hooray!

Dear President Obama:

I simply Love that shiny, strong Backbone you're exercising.

I sincerely hope the Dems in Congress follow that strong lead - if they haven't been before now.

And, please, don't feel bad about showing off that spine of yours - in both word and deed - because (without exception) you have gone above and beyond the call... You've shown great dedication to your goal of being Bi-Partisan. You made an exhaustive effort to work with with those "on the other side" of the aisle.  You were unwavering in your commitment to listening to the positions held by- and to considering bills proposed by GOP members of Congress... Despite their maddening practice of suddenly flip-flopping those positions:  After initially declaring support for a position or writing/sponsoring a bill, the GOP member would instantaneously and without reason flip his/her position and/or withdraw their support of a bill -  solely because they'd learned that you were in agreement with them on it.

(BTW: Utterly infantile and asinine behavior, GOP.)

The Problem?
Simply put: "Actions speak louder than words."  And, keeping that nugget of wisdom in mind, it's excruciatingly-obvious that current GOP members of Congress have made a voluntary decision to act (or decline to act) in ways that consistently show them to be militantly irrational, uncooperative and untrustworthy. And, they continue to act in this way with no regard as to how damaging their actions (or lack thereof) are and/or will be to the American people.

The Solution:
Simple: Remind yourself of the definition of "Insanity". Namely, doing the same thing over and over whilst expecting different results.
Translation...  Bi-Partisan Shmi-Partisan, Mr. President!  Ignore those Benedict Arnold windbags and simply do what you know to be The Right Thing for the Majority of America and We, the Majority of America, will Support You.

Hey Boys & Girls:
Below you will find a crystal clear, concise, to-the-point & user-friendly overview of the current federal budget proposals - Courtesy of Mr. Paul "Listen to the Voice of Reason" Krugman over at NYT.
Mr. Krugman touches on the Big Three:
Mr. Paul "I'm not Courageous/But I'm Cute - for a Republican" Ryan's Magical Thinking-Non Deficit Reducing-Robin Hoodlum GOP Plan; President Barack "Bi-Partisanship Is Overrated" (Yeah, I know it's wishful thinking) Obama's More Practical-Deficit Reducing-Could Be Even Better Plan & the *Congressional Progressive Caucus' Plan.
*Psst - Between you, me and the water-cooler - That last Plan is the Only One that Really Can Balance The Federal Budget In 10 Years - No Magical Thinking, No Crushing Debt Nor Devastating Disappointment Required!
Hey, Senator Ryan (and GOP-paid "Ain't Paul Brave?" Pep Squad):
Wisely , Fairly, & Successfully Reducing the Federal Deficit Whilst,  Simultaneously, Nurturing A Healthy Economy Doesn't take an Iota of Courage - not that you've shown anything resembling that, either.
It only requires a handful of priceless characteristics: Honesty, Integrity, (Un)Common Sense... Oh, and Mad Math Skills (or someone who has them) .

Daily Show: Tales of Principled Behavior- Obama Birth Cert. Mystery, Or Bill O'Reilly Just Blew My Mind

If anyone at any moment throughout my Life had ever suggested to me that I would be expressing the following sentiment, I would have been either: A.) rendered completely helpless for a good five minutes (at least) due to convulsing into hysterical fits of laughter or... B.) suggested that they had - in that very instant - simply become irrevocably insane.

The words that I never (in a million-trillion years) would have ever believed I would ever utter (not even in jest) are these:

Pappa Bear Bill O'Reilly has accomplished something which I would have previously considered Impossible - if I had ever ventured to consider such an unlikely act coming from the man behind The O'Reilly Factor (on Fox). A feat which, when I first watched the tape, left me momentarily stunned & speechless and one which I willingly admit is deserving of our respect and is the kind of use of time and resources for which I would encourage him to engage in more often.

What did O'Reilly do?

He spent some of his On-Air time during The O'Reilly Factor reviewing some of the most pervasive online myths regarding President Obama and then stating to his (inexplicably) wide audience that they are, indeed, False claims and then exposing the Truth Behind The Lie/Myth.

To say I was stunned to see the historically right-wing and non fact-checking Mr. O'Reilly's participating in Truth-Seeking and Myth-Busting - especially when it concerns our Democratic President and especially on-the-record and On-The-Air during his own program... is the epitome of understatement.

First, he Trumped ridiculous Wanna-Be Republican Candidate for President, Donald Trump, following the D-oh-nald's laughable attempt to lend credence to the already-busted and now simply delusional "Birther" myth/belief that President Obama wasn't born in Hawaii/America.

And that was just for starters.

Uh... Way to go, Bill!  And, umm.... Keep up the great work!

(F.Y.I. ~ Hell has just frozen over.)

Here's the clip that blew my mind and... restored my faith in hum... (Nah...) restored my belief that Anything's Possible:

"This is Done.", Obama Signs DADT Repeal. (And, the fight for Civil Rights continues...)

"This is Done."

After moving the ceremony to an auditorium because so many wanted to be there to witness it, and with those 3 words, President Obama put an end to DADT.

I am very proud of our country, our military (they're way ahead of the general population on this - in 30 U.S. states, you can still be fired from your job for being gay) and of President Obama.

A clip from TRMS on our continuing struggle for civil rights for all Americans with Melissa Harris-Perry of Princeton University.

Cheney In Chains? ...Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

"I'm Back In The Saddle, Again."

I found myself Internet Access-Less for almost a week recently.

I was going mad with World-Wide Web Withdrawals.

Try to go a few days without going online for any reason...

It forces you to realize how much of your daily life involves a keyboard, a monitor, a computer and access to the Internet.

I found myself sitting in my little vintage chair - in front of my desk, reaching for the mouse, looking up at the screen and...

Aww, shite!

Thankfully, I'm now getting my long-delayed
dose of DSL.

Just in time, too.

Check this out:

Picturing Dick Cheney with his hands and feet in shackles and doing the convict shuffle to a Federal Penitentiary...

Mmmmm...

What can I say...

It just puts a blissful smile on my face and always provides me with an especially warm, head-to-toe warm fuzzy feeling.

I was kind of ambivalent to read of the recent release of the so-called 'Terror Memos'. No Big Deal, in my eyes.

I don't see why the memo release caused certain former CIA spook officials and other Bush Admin officials to get their big-boy panties in such a bunch.

"Now, Al Qaida's operatives will know what techniques they might be facing and they will train to withstand it."

No.
According to the Obama Admin., the 'interrogation' techniques described in the memos were no longer to be considered approved means of questioning detainees.

"Now, the terrorists know that the US is unable to keep its "TOP SECRETS" Top Secret."

Again... No.
Nothing that I heard described from the memos was anything that could have been "EYES ONLY" material. Nothing was revealed that I hadn't heard before regarding the Bush legal team's acrobatic spin of legalese and semantics as they did their best to make it OK for US interrogators to torture detainees/suspects/innocents. And, I'm quite sure that, as AQ has internet access, they could have dug up the same info there, as I have.

I was concerned about the references to letting sleeping torturers lie... Water under the bridge... Look forward, not backwards...

I actually heard a few officials state something along the lines of:

"As long as interrogators were only using those (torture) methods approved by Bush's legal beagles - and in the ways and to the extent they are described - they will not face prosecution."

WHAT?! Objection!

Uh... Hello?!
There already is a solid legal precident that covers this sort of situation.

Just in case anyone forgot their 20th century History Lessons:

After W.W.II, certain Nazi officials were made to stand trial for their heinous crimes and their participation in mass murder.

In their own defense, some defendents stated:
"We were just following orders."

The Finding: "Guilty!"

It's a common reference - whenever someone commits some act(s) which basic common sense informs goes against everything that is Human and/or Humane... And they try to defend their actions by saying they were just following orders...
"Yeah?... Well, the Nazis were 'just following orders."

Basically - Unless there is something seriously and/or medically wrong with You...
You know what is Right. And, You know what is Wrong.

"Following orders" doesn't fly in the eyes of The Law.
When in Doubt, just walk out.

Peace.

Obama Open To Some Interrogation Prosecution -
But President Concerned About The Impact Of Hearings

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama left the door open Tuesday to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terrorism-suspect interrogations, saying the United States lost "our moral bearings" with use of the tactics.

The question of whether to bring charges against those who devised justification for the methods "is going to be more of a decision for the attorney general within the parameters of various laws and I don't want to prejudge that," Obama said.

The president discussed the issue of terrorism-era interrogation tactics with reporters as he finished an Oval Office meeting with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Obama also said he could support a congressional investigation into the Bush-era terrorist detainee program, but only under certain conditions, such as if it were done on a bipartisan basis. He said he worries about the impact that high-intensity, politicized hearings in Congress could have on the government's efforts to cope with terrorism.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs said later that the independent Sept. 11 Commission, which investigated and then reported on the terror attacks of 2001, might be a model.

The president had said earlier that he didn't want to see prosecutions of the CIA agents and interrogators who took part in waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics, so long as they acted within parameters spelled out by government superiors who held that such practices were legal at the time.

The vexing issue of how terrorism-era detainees held by the United States were interrogated has presented Obama with a quandary, both political and pragmatic. He harshly criticized these practices as the campaigning Democratic presidential candidate, and still feels pressure from his party's liberal wing to come down hard on it, even after the fact. But he also is being criticized by Republicans, including people as high-ranking as former Vice President Dick Cheney, who say the Bush administration doesn't get enough credit for protecting the country from a second 9/11-style attack.

Worsening Obama's dilemma: Now that he is president, he has to worry even more about the fallout of a release of government interrogation memoranda since he now oversees the entire national security establishment, including the spy apparatus.

Cheney said in a Fox News Channel interview that the U.S. government gained valuable intelligence from its aggressive interrogations. This came after conservatives roundly criticized Obama for releasing the internal Bush administration memos, saying that action was not in the U.S. national security interests.

In the interview, Cheney said, "I've now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions."

The Cheney transition office says that the former vice president made the request to the National Archives to declassify the CIA documents on March 31st - and the Archives confirmed on April 8th that they had forwarded the request to the relevant agencies. The Archives are the agency that former vice presidents contact for such matters.

Tuesday afternoon senior intelligence officials told NBC News they have not yet received any request. Late Tuesday an intelligence official said "these things take time" and as of their latest check it had not reached the Agency.

Tuesday evening senior intelligence officials told NBC News that they have checked again, at NBC’s request, after hearing from the Cheney transition office and the request from the former vice president to the National Archives for declassification "made its way to the agency" Tuesday afternoon.

That contradicts what the Archives told the Cheney office - which is that they forwarded the request on April 8th - more than a week after it was received from the former vice president’s office.

Complicated issues
The new administration's stance on Bush administration lawyers who actually wrote the memos approving these tactics has been somewhat murky. "There are a host of very complicated issues involved," Obama said Tuesday.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said in a television interview over the weekend that the administration does not support prosecutions for "those who devised policy." Later, White House aides said that he was referring to CIA superiors who ordered the interrogations, not the Justice Department officials who wrote the legal memos allowing them.

White House press secretary Gibbs was peppered with questions at a Tuesday briefing about whether Obama's latest statements conflicted with signals the administration had sent earlier and Emanuel's statements of Sunday.

"Instead of referring to what anybody might have said ... I think it's important to refer to what the president said," Gibbs replied. He said that Obama has said "he does not believe that people are above the rule of law." And his spokesman reiterated Obama's position that any determination on whether laws were broken "would be rightly determined by the United States Department of Justice."

If an investigation for a "further accounting" of the interrogation decision-making is launched, Gibbs said that Obama might favor the kind of independent, bipartisan commission that investigated the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Congress set up that panel but did not run it.

"I think that the president would see a 9/11 commission, in all honesty, a model for how ... a commission might be set up," Gibbs said. He added, "I'm reminded that Congress has a pretty big say in something like that given their ability and their lawmaking power."

Obama earlier Tuesday had taken a question on this for the first time since he ordered Justice to release top-secret Bush-era memos that gave the government's first full accounting of the CIA's use of waterboarding — a form of simulated drowning — and other harsh methods criticized as torture.

The previously classified memos were released Thursday, over the objections of many in the intelligence community. CIA Director Leon Panetta had pressed for heavier censorship when they were released, but the memos were put out with only light redactions.

Far from putting the matter in the past, the move has resulted in Obama being buffeted by increased pressure from both sides.

Republican lawmakers and former CIA chiefs have criticized Obama's decision, contending that revealing the limits of interrogation techniques will hamper the effectiveness of interrogators and critical U.S. relationships with foreign intelligence services.

The release also has appeared to intensify calls for further investigations of the Bush-era terrorist treatment program and for prosecutions of those responsible for any techniques that crossed the line into torture.

Obama banned all such techniques days after taking office. But members of Congress have continued to seek the release of information about the early stages of the U.S. response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terror under former President George W. Bush. Lawsuits have been brought, seeking the same information.

Obama said an investigation might be acceptable "outside of the typical hearing process" and with the participation of "independent participants who are above reproach." This, he said, could help ensure that any investigation would be a tool to learn, not to provide partisan advantage to one side or another.

"That would probably be a more sensible approach to take," Obama said. "I'm not saying that it should be done, I'm saying that if you've got a choice."

The president made clear that his preference would be not to revisit the era extensively.

"As a general view, I do think we should be looking forward, not back," Obama said. "I do worry about this getting so politicized that we cannot function effectively and it hampers our ability to carry out critical national security operations."

For more than a year, the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility has been reviewing the interrogation memos and whether the lawyers who drafted them complied with department standards. Spokesman Matt Miller said the agency had no comment "on the outcome of that review or on other possible investigations."

"Mr. Roberts Goes To The White House."... Or, "Oops! I Did It Again."

Photobucket
(Doug Mills/The New York Times)

The Presidential Oath as written in the U.S. Constitution:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

That's it. Period. Concise and To The Point.

Hmmm....
Oh Yeah... There's No "... So Help Me God." at the end... It's that Supremely Important Notion of Separation of Church and State and All, I Think.

But when Supreme Court Chief Justice and Constitutional Scholar John Roberts swore in Obama, he flipped some of the words, saying: "I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully."

I'm sure it was just nerves... Yeah, that's it. The Chief Justice just gets butterflies from public speaking.

Or, perhaps... inexperience? After all, he's the youngest ever Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the little issue of now-President Obama having been one of 22 Senate Democrats who voted against Mr. Roberts' confirmation to the Supreme Court in 2005 — Making this not only the First Time a Supreme Court Justice has sworn in a President who voted against him... But, it's also the First Time said Supreme Court Justice has had to do it TWICE.

Peace.

Obama Takes Oath Again, Faithfully This Time

A day after he and Chief John Roberts stumbled over the words, Obama decides to do it over to remove any doubt about the legitimacy of his presidency.
By David G. Savage
7:43 PM PST, January 21, 2009

Washington, D.C. - President Obama took the oath of office Tuesday outside the Capitol, as millions watched in person and on TV. He took it again Wednesday night -- this time in the privacy of the White House, with only a few aides and reporters looking on.

The reason: During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. stumbled over the oath's opening words, and Obama repeated them back, incorrectly.

The second time around, they both got it right.

The president's lawyer and constitutional experts agreed that taking the oath a second time was unnecessary. Under the Constitution, Obama became president at noon Tuesday, a few minutes before he placed his hand on a Bible to take the oath.

"We believe the oath of office was administered effectively and that the president was sworn in appropriately yesterday," White House counsel Greg Craig said in a statement. "But the oath appears in the Constitution itself. And out of abundance of caution, because there was one word out of sequence, Chief Justice Roberts administered the oath a second time."

Yale law professor Akhil Reed Amar said, "It puts to rest all the doubts. . . . We lawyers are cautious folks."

As for Obama, he joked that he and his staff decided to repeat the ceremony because "we decided it was so much fun."

Yet it was clear that the administration, having been dogged by false Internet rumors about Obama's citizenship during the presidential campaign, wanted to take no chances about the legitimacy of his presidency.

During Tuesday's ceremony, Roberts misplaced the word "faithfully" when he was reading the oath of office, and Obama repeated the mistake.

The Constitution says the president must solemnly swear "that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States." But on Tuesday, Obama said, "I will execute the office of president of the United States faithfully. . . ."

On Wednesday, there were no such gaffes. Obama raised his right hand in the White House Map Room about 7:35 p.m. -- there was no Bible -- and repeated Roberts' words to the letter.

"Congratulations, again," the chief justice said, smiling.

"Thank you, sir," Obama replied.

Amar noted that at least two presidents, Calvin Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur, took the oath a second time after questions were raised. In Coolidge's case, his father was a justice of the peace and administered the oath to his son upon the death of President Harding.

"Coolidge retook the oath in a secret ceremony," Amar said. "He didn't want his father to know about it."

Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the UC Irvine School of Law, said the do-over "was just a matter of caution and compliance with the text."

"But I don't think it mattered. No one would have standing to sue. Obama would still be president. But this would stop people from asking whether or he was legitimately president."

From the Depths of GWB to the Peaks of Obama...

Originally, I intended to send this as an email to Tamra of Lucidnation.
(Check out her Blog... if you Appreciate Timely, Honest, Intelligent, Biting and Hit-the-Nail-on-the-Head Social and Political Commentary.) She had penned another brilliant Blog regarding her perceptions, experiences and feelings from the excruciatingly heart-breaking GWB selection up to last night's Obama Victory.

But, as I was proofreading it, I decided I'd like to share it with all of you.

T:

I can relate.

The election results of 2000 left me utterly shocked and horrified.
("How could so many people be so dumb?")

And, when GWB pulled the smash-and-grab of 2004, I was teetering on suicidal.
("No... Not Again." The whole situation seemed pointless. Sadly, our gullible fellow Americans fell for the flim-flam. Our country was being manipulated by fear-mongers and diving towards disaster.)

"Hmm... If not suicide, then I'd figure out a way to... Well, never mind."

Thankfully, I've a couple of beloved people in my life that I couldn't do such a selfish thing to.

O.K... Nix removing myself. Nix tempting the Secret Service have a go at it.

How to Survive the next 4 years of Yee-Haw Hell?

I clung for dear Life to the only thing left... HOPE.

Yesterday - Hopeful as I was - I emailed my close friends and family to say that, depending upon Tuesday's election outcome...

I'd either be making a spectacle of myself - jumping up-and-down, deliriously happy, embracing total strangers on the street...

Or, I'd be tearfully reviewing one-way airline tickets to the U.K.

News of Barack's (and America's) Landslide Victory spontaneously erupted on the street via the sounds of jubilant screaming from seen and unseen people for blocks all around me... the whooping and hollering multiplied and spread out in all directions. Car horns began to honk in celebratory morse code and wail. ("Whew! Can't really afford that airline ticket right now, anyway.")

"Is it True?" "Did he Really Win?" It seemed to me it was too early to know for sure.

I couldn't deal with getting my Hopes up and having them dashed again. I quickly called my Mother to verify and when she quietly said, "He won." (I could feel and hear the smile radiating from her heart to her face through her voice), grateful tears of joy streamed from my eyes.

Are you going to celebrate with the Obama volunteers? (My Mother had joined the thousands of Obama offices across the country that made phone calls and went to important states to talk with people.)
"There are volunteers who are going to meet at the office, but I wanted to take this historic moment in in peace and quiet at home.", she said. "L., I remember each of the assasinations of John and Robert Kennedy and the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr...", she continued, "and the murders of students and the race riots... and I just want to be here by myself." I understood, as well as I could.

I can't know what it is like, exactly, for my Mother and for other Americans who lived during those tumultuous and tragedy-ridden times. I know the news of Barack's victory filled my own Heart with so much joy, it felt like it would burst. I grew up in the South. My first elementary school crush was on a school-mate who happened to not be white. As shy a child as I was in every other way, if I saw one child picking on another based solely upon the color of their skin, I would jump up and intervene on their behalf and berate the bully. I knew - even at that innocent age - the difference between right and wrong, and I knew racism was wrong. Of course, I'd learned about the heart-breaking events of the Civil Rights Movement. I'd seen film that depicted or was historical record of the kind of vile evil that one man can do to another for no other reason than ignorance-based hatred. I mourned for all who had suffered at those times. And, I felt anger at the racial inequalities and injustices that had managed to continue on since then.

Then Tuesday Night Happened. Barack's victory is a Ground-Breaking Moment of Historical Proportions. I know Everything that's wrong about racism or about our country won't change overnight. But, this victory is Change on a Global Scale. And, I Hope, it's Only the Beginning...

I'm thrilled with Obama's win for many reasons and on many levels.
My Best Wishes to Barack and Michelle (and the girls).

None of us is Perfect (though, the thought of Palin in the White House was - in a word - Terrifying.), but I feel that besides being Brilliant, Barack Obama is a Genuine and Compassionate Human Being. And - in spite of the many pitfalls of politics - he has managed to maintain his Integrity.

So, I'm Grateful. So Very Grateful. I Am - Simultaneously - Jubilant and Humble.

Having sworn off organized religion eons ago, I won't say the oft-repeated:

"God Bless (The United States of... ) America."

But, I will say:
"Thank You To... " and "I Love The United States Of America."

The Truest and Greatest Ideals of Our Amazing America are Alive, Well and Kicking A**... Right Here and Right Now and (Hopefully) Forever.

Thank You!
Peace.
