I'm so sick of corporations that - when they peek out of their Ivory Towers and observe/recognize something organic, beautiful, meaningful, or (justifiably) controversial in our society - then, spend tens of thousands of dollars co-opting it - but, only superficially - for their own (further) financial gain!

I Stand With Scott Olsen. I Stand With Occupy Oakland. Stop Police Brutality.

After two weeks of Peaceful demonstration, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan and the Oakland Police Department had, apparently, had enough of Occupy Oakland.

Between them, the two parties decided that Occupy Oakland's camp in Oscar Grant Plaza had become "a Public Safety Threat".

And so, on Tuesday, armed with the allegation of some looming threat to public safety (which, apparently, was hidden somewhere within the peaceful camp) the Oakland Police Department moved in and did this...

*I'm rather thrilled to see that the Oakland Police Department's unnecessarily-brutal assault on Occupy Oakland is finally receiving coverage - and criticism - on both national and international news reports.
