If You Didn't See This Coming, Either

A.) You Weren't Conscious;

B.) You Were Too Busy Blindly & Deaf-ly Supporting Trump;

C.) All Of The Above.*
(*Not a judgement. Just an observation.)

I was looking into classes long before the looming Trumpocalypse developed.
But, current circumstances have definitely motivated me to pick one and start going, immediately.

I'm leaning towards Krav Maga - If it's good enough for Israel's Mossad, it's good enough for me!

If you're female or if your're someone who is simply interested in developing your self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness, physical and mental strength, etc., then please find a skilled instructor where you live (community colleges often offer classes) and GO!

YES, Wonkette, HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA IS STILL A FEMINIST

Someone call Wonkette! (They'd gotten rather apoplectic over this misunderstanding.)

In an earlier post, I noted that there'd been an uproar over comments by His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, which had - it now appears to be - been quite clearly taken out of context.

His Holiness has a very self-deprecating sense of humour.  And, while not being outright critical, his comments often - if examined - reveal his perspective/views on society/culture.

He'd commented that it would be perfectly acceptable if the next Dalai Lama was a woman, but that she should have an attractive face, otherwise she would be of "no use." were mistaken for outrageously sexist remarks.

Hold your outrage for a moment, ladies and gents.
What His Holiness was, in fact, saying was that modern western culture/society still places far too much importance on the perceived superficial attractiveness of women - particularly of women who are seeking positions of power and/or women who are already in positions of power.*

"Dalai Lama's 'sexist' quip ruffles equality activists"* *But, was it a critique or an opinion?

~ Perhaps 'His Holiness' was only remarking on how - in modern western society - the physical attractiveness of women who are either seeking or who are already in positions of power - regardless of the field - is always brought up as if it's a worthwhile topic of conversation (See: "Hilary Clinton")?

"Gender equality campaigners have criticised the Dalai Lama for his suggestion that any potential female successor to his role “must be very, very, attractive”.  In an interview, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists said there was no reason why a future Dalai Lama could not be a woman – but she would have to be good looking otherwise she would be “not much use”."
